Anahat Foundation

Anahat works to improve access to quality primary and preventive healthcare for underserved urban communities. We run a free primary health clinic in central Bangalore where anyone can consult with a qualified doctor, avail of medicines and diagnostic lab tests for free. We also conduct community health camps across the city, and run a preventive health programme called Prerna to help patients manage noncommunicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension. Through Prerna, we integrate social and clinical interventions in a group setting over 3 months during which patients learn about the social and behavioural causes of diabetes and hypertension and also receive medication, lab testing and follow up doctor consultations to track their progress. We help patients manage their diet and live healthier lifestyles through Prerna. In addition, we offer free counselling and physiotherapy at the Anahat Clinic.
