An Cumann Staire University Of Galway Historical Society

An Cumann Staire (NUI Galway Historical Society) is an historical society, based within the National University of Ireland, Galway. It is one of over a hundred active societies at the Galway campus. The society is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the university having been founded in 1951. An Cumann Staire is affiliated with the Irish History Students’ Association and the International Students of History Association. As an organisation we are committed to running a number of activities every year to the benefit of both our members and the wider Galway community. social and academic, These include our famed Lecture Series wherein we invite experts and speakers from across Europe and the USA to Galway. We also organize a number of social events including but not limiting to table quizzes, film showings, industry conferences and of course, Arts Ball, Ireland's largest Society ball.
