American Friends of Georgia is a non-profit, non-political organization with tax-exempt status. AFG was founded in 1994 by Constantine Sidamon-Eristoff and a group of Georgian-American and American citizens, all of whom shared a mission to help Georgia through a difficult post- Soviet transition period. During the past 25 years AFG has provided funding and support by its groundbreaking programs to improve educational, economic, social, medical and environmental conditions.
AFG’s American and Georgian offices have a strong presence in Georgia, as well as longstanding and productive partnerships with other humanitarian organizations, schools, churches, the US Embassy and the Georgian government.
American Friends of Georgia is dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable in Georgia through providing practical humanitarian assistance and empowering younger generations to become drivers of change. Our vision is a society where everyone has a decent place to live, learn and thrive. To bring that vision into reality, we focus on education and social inclusion, humanitarian assistance, healthcare, promoting Georgian culture and art and promoting a tradition of philanthropy.
