Amal for Education is an Italian NGO, registered in Rome (Italy) and operating internationally, focused on educational and cultural projects for refugees and people in conflict areas (www.amaleducation.net). Amal for Education was founded in 2014 by Isabella Chiari. Its activities are based in Turkey, Lebanon and Syria and also in Italy in response to the current refugee crisis. Amal for Education is focused both on providing basic support to families with supplies distributions, child sponsorships and rent support to refugees, but is mainly focused on the support and development of educational projects, educational materials and providing opportunities to refugees for formal and non formal education, as well as child protection activities. Amal for Education activities are both directed to children and adult refugees, offering a large scope of services and learning opportunities ranging from language courses, catch-up classes, literacy classes, life skills, teacher training, art and cultural programs but also workshops for women focused on handicrafts.
