Amada Madeira

Amada Madeira produces biojewels (rings, necklaces and earrings) and decorative pieces in wood and resin. They are handmade pieces, made from the reuse of wood from woodwork disposals, antique furniture and prospectors. Passionate about art and design, craftsmanship has always been present in my life. What was once just a hobby for me, Sheila, today has become a business touched with all the heart and professionalism with my husband, Paul. Observing in works buckets and at joinery doors, we noticed how there was a lot of wood in good condition, often noble woods wasted. That was the trigger we needed to rescue and turn all this wood into art. The beginning was unpretentious, creating some simple pieces without much technique or tools. Gradually, we improved, the result of much study and many attempts and mistakes. Thus, seeking references and following the passion for manual work with wood, we discovered the resin and all its translucent beauty, in a perfect marriage. In addition, we started working with Marchetaria, a millenary technique that consists of ornamenting surfaces with different species of woods forming patterns, designs and combinations.
