ANH-Intl is a global non-governmental organisation promoting natural and sustainable approaches to health and environmental care. Through our work, with its key focus on Europe and the USA (www.anh-usa.org), we help to shape an appropriate scientific and regulatory framework that encourages increased adoption of natural and sustainable approaches to healthcare. Our mission, by working with a diverse cross-section of society, including health professionals, companies, consumers and political representatives, is to help reduce the burden of chronic, degenerative diseases that lead to a unnecessary loss of quality of life and threaten to cripple healthcare systems and economies. We also focus on evaluating the health and environmental impact of food production systems, in the process identifying those that are most sustainable yet are capable of satisfying the needs of our planet’s growing population. As a means of raising awareness of the issues, we engage in education, legal support and advocacy to help improve consumer engagement and freedom of choice as well as removing barriers to trade in products and services integral to natural and sustainable healthcare.
The organisation was founded in 2002 by Robert Verkerk PhD, an internationally acclaimed expert in sustainability, who has headed the organisation since its start. Through its work particularly in Europe and the US, ANH-Intl works to accomplish its diverse mission through its unique application of ‘good science’ and good law’.
