ActionAid South Africa is a nationally registered civil society organization and a proud member of the ActionAid International Federation, a global social justice federation operating in 45 countries. Our mission is to work hand in hand with individuals facing poverty and exclusion, striving to establish sustainable, people-centered, and equitable alternatives to injustice and inequality.
Guided by feminist analysis and a Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA), we recognize the interconnectedness of people's struggles for social transformation. By forming alliances primarily with youth, grassroots communities, like-minded organizations, and social movements, we foster initiatives and campaigns that target the underlying systemic causes of poverty, injustice, and inequality within South Africa.
Join us in our journey to create lasting change. Together, we can empower communities, transform lives, and build a society where everyone can thrive.
We use the Human Rights Based approach and work with the most excluded, communities and people living in poverty to claim and secure their rights.
ActionAid South Africa runs local, national and international programmes and campaigns in Women and Girls Right’s, Food and Land Rights, Child Rights and Education, Mining and Extractives, and International Platforms (BRICS, IBSA, SADC, AU, G20 etc).
