Aaliyah in Action provides women and families comfort as they take the step toward healing after the loss of their baby. Walking out of the hospital, empty handed, a shell of your former self, can be debilitating. Aaliyah in Action seeks to provide the first step in the healing process after a loss. One of the hardest, yet most important, elements to begin this healing process is self-care. Our Aaliyah in Action boxes are meant to provide women with small ways to care for oneself while navigating this new life and grief journey. Waking up each day, facing this new reality, is not easy. We hope that providing these healing products and ideas can help in even the smallest way to make the day just a little bit easier to get through. In addition to the importance of self-care Aaliyah in Action also provides families with bereavement resources throughout the country on our website. Figuring out which resources are best for you during this time can be challenging and very overwhelming. We hope that our Aaliyah in Action Bereavement Guide can serve as an organized way to see the many resources that are available to you in our area. Aaliyah in Action is currently partnered with over 35 hospitals who have inventory of our Aaliyah in Action packages and support books. Our hospital partnerships are a critical piece to our program reaching families during the initial onset of grief after perinatal loss. Our donors are a crucial element to the success of our program. Hospitals have expressed they are unable to pay for the program due to budget constraints and, in many cases, simply a lack of funding for bereavement in general. We rely on our donors and corporate partnerships to keep our program afloat and appreciate any and all help in fundraising as we continue to grow and support more families.
