Ayni is working on improving education in Bolivia through the use of IT / Technology and the development of digital teaching materials. Focus points are: co-creation, sustainability, closing the digital gap, fighting poverty, equal opportunities for all, empowerment of girls.
The history of Ayni Bolivia-the Netherlands goes back to 1997 when a few Bolivians living in the Netherlands met for the first time and decided to form a cooperation group. This group later became known as the Ayni Bolivia-Netherlands Foundation.
The Ayni Foundation supports the strategy of its Bolivian partner ONG Ayni Bolivia. Due to the historical and personal ties of the founders of the foundation with Ayni Bolivia, the foundation focuses its work on Latin America in general and on Bolivia in particular. Ayni is convinced that education is the only way to combat poverty. In Bolivia there is a "digital gap"; the knowledge and use of IT/Technology is lacking behind. That is why Ayni is committed to providing high-quality IT education to underprivileged young people in Bolivia in order to reduce the digital gap and increase opportunities for them in the labor market.
The foundation has since set up dozens of successful programs, including: Chaski, TICMujeres and RED de Jóvenes. Within Chaski independent computer centers have been realized at rural schools, teachers were trained in IT and the use of PCs and educational software and games were developed through co-creation. With TICMujeres Ayni has Ayni hundreds of girls to become a PC maintenance engineer, trained young people in programming and trained teachers and young people in robotics and 3D design & printing. With RED de Jóvenes, entrepreneurship among young people is encouraged at international level.
