ARTZUID organizes a world-class biennial international sculpture route in Amsterdam. The 7th edition will take place in 2021 from 15 May to 19 September.
Location: the green and monumental Plan Zuid by Berlage in Amsterdam (Apollolaan, Minervalaan. From Amsterdam South Station to Museumplein).
The exhibition is free of charge and attracts an average of 350,000 visitors a year per edition.
By placing sculptures in the monumental Plan Zuid by architect H.P. Berlage, ARTZUID establishes a link between contemporary art and the urban cultural heritage. ARTZUID creates a new meeting place in public space. The sculptures bring something to the visitors and call for reactions and conversation with each other. ARTZUID has an extensive educational program. A total of 30,000 pupils have already visited the sculpture exhibition. In 2011, the art south foundation of the European Union received the Europa Nostra Award and in 2012, the Best in Heritage Award.
