Magen David Adom (MDA) is Israel’s only national EMS and blood services organization. MDA is responsible for teaching first aid and emergency medicine and professional services, blood services, and engages in humanitarian activities for the community.
MDA operates 1,200 emergency vehicles and two helicopters from 170 stations. 23,500 of MDA's highly trained personnel are volunteers.
Annually, MDA provides emergency medical treatment in over 750,000 cases and collects more than 300,000 blood units. Over 60,000 people are instructed by the MDA Training teams each year. In total, the MDA National First Responders Unit is comprised of over 5,000 volunteers.
