Bioinformatics Institute is a non-governmental non-commercial bioinformatics research and educational institution supported by JetBrains, Inc.
It was created in 2010 in St. Petersburg Russia.
Our mission is to popularize bioinformatics and educate a new generation of highly skilled professionals. The purpose of Institute's educational programs is to acquaint students with the main objectives and methods of bioinformatics as well as open problems related to this science.
Our programs are mainly focused on graduate students and young professionals with tech, mathematical, and biological specialties who are interested in bioinformatics and biostatistics.
Regular programs include Bioinformatics for Biologists, Biostatistics, Guest Lectures, Online Courses, Master Program in Systems Biology (in collaboration with ITMO University), workshops on NGS data analysis, biomedical statistics, and systems biology.
Bioinformatics Institute has more than 20 open massive online courses.
Previously the Institute also organized algorithmic bioinformatics program, online master program on data analysis and bioinformatics, annual Bioinformatics Summer School, bioinformatics hackathons, online bioinformatics contest, and many more.
