The HISTADRUT - General Federation of Labour in Israel, established in 1920, is Israel's largest organization of trade unions and also its most powerful social movement. With over 800,000 members, it is one of the most influential institutions in the State of Israel. Trade unions are organised groups of workers who come together to support each other in the workplace, negotiating with employers to improve pay, terms and conditions and ensure fair and equal treatment. Unions provide members with individual advice and representation, and also offer their members opportunities for personal and professional development.
