China Philanthropy Research Institute of Beijing Normal University is the first public welfare research institute in China. Since it was founded in June 2010, China Philanthropy Research Institute has adhered to the vision of "improving the world through philanthropy." It has always committed itself to advocating the concept of modern philanthropy and to promoting the construction and development of a modern philanthropic system in China. China Philanthropy Research Institute has taken the lead in proposing the coming of the era of the philanthropic economy. The institute’s key fields of research include global public welfare and the public welfare industry, children's benefits and protection, and benefits and services for the elderly. The institute has also provided government, enterprises, philanthropic families, and public service organizations with consulting services regarding strategic planning in the areas of public welfare and philanthropy, and the planning and development of social benefits and social services. China Philanthropy Research Institute of Beijing Normal University ranks 26th among the national list of 510 think tanks and ranks 3rd among the college think tanks, on the ranking of the Think Tank Big Data Index Influence which was released by the 2nd Think Tank Summit on New Economy on January 7, 2017. In April 2018, China Philanthropy Research Institute received an A-level influence rating by the China Think Tank Big Data Index (CTTBI).
