Our mission at DEMAC is to improve coordination and communication among diaspora organizations involved in humanitarian assistance and between diaspora organizations, local actors and institutional humanitarian actors. We further aim to increase visibility and engagement for diaspora organizations in the humanitarian system through evidence based research, workshops, conferences and networking about diaspora engagement in humanitarian crises around the world. DEMAC is funded by USAID Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance. In 2023 DEMAC is partnering with IOM to enhance the impact and visibility of diaspora organizations in humanitarian response.
