Since it began its activities in May 1989, as a Rural Credit Cooperative of the Rio Doce Valley, aimed specifically at rural producers, the institution has contributed to the expansion of Brazilian cooperative credit. Founded on October 24, 1988, it obtained authorization from the Central Bank of Brazil for its operation on January 2, 1989, but only on May 15, 1989 began its activities.
In July 2005 it became the first legally authorized free admission cooperative in the region. Since then, the institution has effectively become a cooperative for all, having the rewarding opportunity to promote the economic and social development of the municipalities in which it operates.
