Managing partner, Vijesh began his career in the City working in the financial services & banking sector, having graduated from the University of London with a Masters in Banking & Financial Services Law. Having qualified as a barrister in 1994 was determined to develop a practice to match his own work ethic & qualified as a solicitor in 1998. The practice was born in the same year under the former name Saunsbury & Co. In 2005 the name of the firm was changed to SJ Law following collaboration with the firms other partner Robert Johnson. This collaboration proved to be the cornerstone of the practice as it is now - East London's largest & most successful criminal defence law firm. The firm whose head office is in E17, the heart of London's vibrant East End employs over 50 qualified specialist criminal defence lawyers, the majority of whom are fully accredited criminal duty solicitors, authorised under the legal aid police station duty scheme. The team at SJ Law are well known for having successfully defended many of the country’s & East London's most notorious & high profile criminal cases including clients on trial in relation to complex financial & regulatory offences, the importation & supply of Class 'A' drugs, armed robbery & murder to name but a few. In 2012, Vijesh established the firms highly successful dedicated 24 hour motoring law defence service & in 2013 led the firm to setting up its first non-crime related legal department, specialising in defending employers in relation to employment law matters which is already proving a huge success.
