Sutton Coldfield Town Hall is a prominent community arts venue in the heart of the Royal Town, next door to the railway station. An Edwardian theatre is central to the suite of rooms available for hire, seating over 400 (theatre style). Retractable tiered seating reveals the largest sprung dance floor in North Birmingham. With a large stage and industry standard lighting and PA, this is an ideal setting for conferences, award ceremonies and dinner dances. Together with the adjacent Vesey Lounge, banqueting cabaret style is available for 360 guests, with a large industrial catering kitchen available for hire. The Sir Doug Ellis Bar in the lounge is a modern, welcoming facility which features speciality gins and ales to suit your event, or can be totally alcohol free if preferred. The Lounge, available as a separate hire, seats 200 people theatre style with large windows overlooking parkland.
For ceremonial events, exhibitions and meetings, The Crush Hall at the front of the building has stunning original features and seats up to 70 people theatre style. At the more modern end of the building, The Bedford Suite has its own bar and seats 70 theatre style. A passionate and engaged management team are bringing this treasured building into the 21st century with an inspired range of new events for the community, better understanding of corporate needs and a commitment to continual improvement. A programme of renovation has begun, with estimates of £3-£4 million required through fundraising and grants to create an enviable arts and events venue for the people of Sutton Coldfield and North Birmingham. With community at its heart, the new team are working with local businesses, community leaders and arts organisations to cultivate a much needed cultural hub in the town.
