Yotopia is an independent Iowa City business located in the heart of downtown Iowa City. Since opening its doors in September 2011, Yotopia has not only spread the love of froyo throughout Iowa City. It has created a place for the community to gather, converse, and enjoy the simpler things in life. Meet the Owner: Veronica Tessler Veronica Tessler loves frozen yogurt. A problem solver by nature, Veronica grappled with the very big problem: there was no froyo in Iowa City. So in 2011, she took matters into her own hands. With a little ingenuity, support from friends and family, and lots of taste-testing, Yotopia was born. Our Yogurt Yotopia uses only the highest quality ingredients in its yogurt and sources products locally whenever possible. Yotopia uses 100% premium yogurt that contains between 100 and 400 billion live and active cultures per serving (depending on the flavor) that aid in digestion and immunity. With gluten-free, dairy-free, and no-sugar-added options always on tap, there's something for everyone at Yotopia. Yotopia encourages froyo lovers to eat genuine yogurt, not the powder mixes used by the big chains, to receive all the benefits of the superfood that is yogurt. More Than Just FroYo In addition to spreading the love of frozen yogurt throughout Iowa City, Yotopia strives to make a genuine difference in the community by featuring the work of local artists, sourcing locally whenever possible, and partnering with student groups and local charities to raise money for causes that support this place that we call home. Since Yotopia opened in September 2011, it has partnered with more than 50 student and community groups to raise more than $29,000 toward causes that directly benefit the Iowa City community.
