The Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board, usually referred to as the Cattlemen's Beef Board (CBB), consists of 101 members, including domestic beef, dairy and veal producers, as well as importers of beef and beef products. Each Beef Board member is appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture from nominations submitted by state certified nominating organizations.
The CBB facilitates the Beef Checkoff Program. The Beef Checkoff is a producer-funded marketing and research program that acts as a catalyst for change and is designed to stimulate beef sales and consumption through a combination of initiatives including consumer advertising, research, public relations and new product development.
