The qathet Division is a community-based group of family physicians and facilitators working together to improve practice, foster an open discussion for current topics, and achieve proactive change in common healthcare goals. We work collaboratively with our community and healthcare partners to enhance local patient care, increase awareness for shifts in the medical community and improve professional satisfaction for physicians.
The Divisions of Family Practice initiative is funded by the General Practice Service Committee (GPSC), one of four joint committees that represent a partnership of the provincial government and Doctors of BC.
The qathet Division of Family Practice (qDoFP) was founded in 2010. Formerly the Powell River Division of Family Practice, the name changed in 2022 following extensive discussion with the Tla'amin Nation and a vote of the membership on the new name.
