The story of La Maison Moreau, a former manufacturer of luxury leather goods and travel cases, began in the early nineteenth century.
Following in the footsteps of Martin-Guillaume Biennais, the master cabinetmaker for Napoleon the 1st, and of a succession of artisans, layetiers and trunk makers, La Maison Moreau moved to the prestigious address of 283, rue Saint-Honoré in 1882.
It remained there until the early twentieth century, when it ceased trading.
The printed Moreau is a historical design which was used for luggage and trunks. It was inspired by caning of wicker basket as a structure of a light trunk - « diligence ».
