The Delhi Capitals is one of the eight founding teams that plays in the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL). Co-owned by the GMR Group and the JSW Group, Delhi Capitals was established in 2008 as Delhi Daredevils before embracing a new avatar in December 2018. The Delhi Capitals has a home in the Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium.
Currently coached by Australian legend Ricky Ponting, the Delhi Capitals have made the semifinals of the competition on two occasions - in 2008 and 2009, eve topping the table in the latter edition. However, the team's high point arrived in the 2012 season where it made the play-off stages of the IPL and the semifinal of the Champions League Twenty20.
