Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based organisation, providing emergency assistance to minimise the impact of emergencies and strengthen the community’s capacity to plan, respond and recover, when emergencies occur. We are the control agency for flood, storm, tsunami, earthquake and landslide throughout Victoria, and provide the largest road rescue network in Australia, with specialist teams in 102 of our 149 units across the state. We also assist the Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important support role during major bushfire responses.
In addition to providing support on the ground, VICSES assists municipal councils and their communities with emergency management plans, providing advice, information, education and training.
Our organisation is made up of approximately 200 full-time professional staff and 5,000 dedicated volunteers from all ages and backgrounds, with a shared desire to work as part of a team that gives back to the community they live in.
Our Victorian Head Office is located on Sturt Street, Southbank, supported by regional headquarters and offices throughout Victoria.
Discover the benefits of a public service career with VICSES, and join a team that is diverse, talented and highly skilled.
