The Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute (NRCI) is dedicated to providing resources, community, and hope to those struggling with mental health issues and to those who support them. We offer mental health education, training, and presentations to the greater Chicagoland community to increase understanding and decrease stigma connected to mental health and suicide. Many programs offer professional CEUs.
Marilyn and Larry Cohen founded the Institute in 2000 in honor of their daughter Naomi Ruth Cohen who died by suicide after living with Bipolar Disorder. Our mission is to reduce the stigma that for far too long has been a barrier to individuals and families being able to access the treatment and support that they need and deserve. NRCI partnered with The Chicago School in 2008 to achieve organizational efficiencies and increase our impact.
