To realize our vision of ensuring every newborn has consistent, fair access
to safe breast milk, systemic transformation is crucial in Uganda. Over the next five years, our strategic objectives will drive this change:
1. Champion Safe Breastfeeding: We will spearhead awareness on
breastfeeding, advocate for donor practice policies and promote breast
milk donation.
2. Document and Share Progress: We are committed to regularly tracking,
reporting milestones, and disseminating best practices that will consolidate
the setup of community breast milk banking facilities in Uganda.
3. Engage Stakeholders Globally: By offering specialised tools and guidance,
cultivating strategic partnerships, and amplifying global awareness via
dialogues, we aim to be at the forefront of global advocacy.
Our initiatives will not only bolster breast milk donation but also provide
invaluable data and strategies to inform decisions. Our methodology,
involving focus group discussions, surveys, and interviews, will yield
evidence-driven research. By 2028, we envision an informed community,
from local to global stakeholders, deeply engaged in shaping effective
policies and interventions in Uganda. Our ambition is to magnify our impact through expanded networks, reinforced capacities, and heightened visibility. This
momentum will instigate essential changes.
To turn our vision into reality, we need significant funding, a supportive
political landscape, demand for our findings and expertise, robust systems,
and a talented team. While we spearhead this movement, our journey will
be in collaboration with local, national, and international partners.
