Here at Habitat for Humanity Central Region (New Zealand), we believe everyone deserves a decent place to live.
We work across the central North Island, covering communities from Tuakau to Wellington.
We are an independent registered charity, part of a New Zealand network of Habitat for Humanity affiliates, and part of a global network of Affiliates. Our local work includes assisted home ownership, critical home repair, and social rentals, which we carry out with the support of a small dedicated staff and numerous volunteers.
Habitat Central Region manages Freeman Court, an independent living facility for older people in Te Awamutu. We also have a network of ReStores across the region selling quality recycled goods - Te Rapa, Lincoln Street (Hamilton), Glenview, Rotorua, Te Awamutu, Taupo, Gisborne, and Hastings - donations welcome.
