AIP is an investment manager dedicated to advising institutional investors on direct investments into energy and infrastructure assets in Europe and the US which provide essential services and benefits to society. AIP was originally established as part of PKA AIP in 2012 but was spun out in 2018. Today, the team consists of app. 80 dedicated professionals with extensive investment experience. To date, AIP has invested more than EUR 4 billion and the target for the coming years is to invest approximately EUR 800-1,000 million per year. AIP’s investors include the Danish pension funds PKA, Pensam, Akademiker Pension and Lærernes Pension, the Norwegian financial group Storebrand and a group of Swiss institutional Investors.
The PKA funds consist of four Danish funds administered by PKA A/S with more than EUR 40 billion in assets under management and approximately 300,000 members including nurses, medical secretaries, social pedagogues, and pharmacologists. PenSam is a Danish labour market pension fund managing occupational schemes for people within elder care, cleaning, technical service, and pedagogical care in Danish municipalities, regions, and private companies. PenSam has approximately 417,000 members and EUR 19 billion in assets under management. Storebrand is a Norwegian financial group offering pension, savings, insurance and banking products to individuals, businesses and public enterprises. The group has more than 2 million members in Norway and Sweden and EUR 77bn in assets under management.
