Big Brothers Big Sisters provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Operating since 1962, the agency serves youth ages 6-18 in two core programs: Community-Based Mentoring: traditional one-to-one mentoring during mentor/mentee free time, roughly 9 hours/month. Site-Based Mentoring: one-to-one mentoring that takes place once a week for 1 hour at a school or an after school program. Big Brothers Big Sisters is accountable for each child enrolled as a Little increasing academic achievement, improving social skills, and creating a healthy lifestyle. There is never a charge for our services. Each year Big Brothers Big Sisters must raise at least $1 million in our local area to serve roughly 600 children.
