Ecocat catalytic washcoat concepts – Tailored to your needs
Washcoat charasteristics play a major role in catalytic converter conversion efficiency and durability against aging. By modifying the washcoat, catalyst selectivity and performance can be adjusted based on customer requirements, raw emissions and fuel quality. This enables maximum conversions with minimum catalyst volume and use of precious metals.
The functioning of catalytic coatings is based on precious metals´ (Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium) reactions with emissions components in exhaust gas. As an outcome, carbon monoxide CO and hydrocarbons HC oxidise into CO2 and water while reducing NOx to nitrogen.
Besides 3-way, diesel oxidation, diesel filtration, urea hydrolysis, SCR, CNG and bi-fuel concepts, Ecocat has developed its coating solutions for different volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Ecocat substrate technologies – Multiple choices for multiple applications
Ecocat's substrate selection includes conventional straight-channel, turbulence, mixer and partial filter types. Substrates are designed and manufactured in different sizes, shapes and cell densities from two wheelers to cars and heavy-duty applications as well as solutions for large stationary engines.
Ecocat´s metallic matrix substrates offer superior properties in back pressure, weight, packaging size/shape flexibility and low volume advantage. With metallic substrates it has been possible to utilize inter-channel communication in order to equalize flow and heat distribution, improve mass and heat transfer and trap diesel particulates.
