Topiaris is an established landscape architecture practice since in 1986. Teresa Barão and Luís Ribeiro are founding partners, to which later joined Catarina Viana. With headquarters in Lisbon, the practice includes twelve landscape architects who share identical ethics and values. As a team, Topiaris constantly challenges itself to expand its trade’s frontiers and to attain excellence in landscape planning, design, requalification, and preservation. Topiaris combines creativity with sustainable solutions, and truly believes on the responsibility to defend the planet for future generations. Topiaris has been growing significantly and steadily over the years, having developed landscape projects in Portugal, East Timor, Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Senegal, and in the United States (Southampton, Long Island). With a broad scope of intervention, ranging from regional and local planning, public and private, from large- and small-scale projects, historical sites to contemporary landscapes, Topiaris believes and defends holistic and multidisciplinary approaches to design. We thus favour the integration of specialists from different areas of expertise into our projects, as well as the constant communication with our clients, in the conviction that everyone has a relevant role to play in building the character and identity of spaces under design and construction.
