Smith Construction (Heckington) Ltd is a specialist design and engineering company recognised nationally in the sports surface construction industry. We pride ourselves on carrying out very high quality design and construction for all types of sports surfaces, artificial grass, natural grass or polymeric surfaces. We are in our 33rd year, financially strong and have constructed in excess of 650 artificial pitches, 22 athletics tracks and numerous tennis courts and MUGAs.
We specialise in sustainable drainage design and sports surface engineering. Our designs take in to account the prevailing ground conditions, investigation reports, environmental conditions etc. Our design calculations are based on facts, they demonstrate the design works and can be proven, enabling us to offer complete design assurance to clients.
Our current clients include Universities, Private Schools, Local Authorities, Prisons, Academies, Athletics Clubs, Hockey and Football Clubs, Main Contractors; Carillion, Skanska, Kier, Bam, Sir Robert McAlpine, Telereal Trillium, Interserve, Willmott Dixon, GB Building Solutions, Wates, Balfour Beatty and others nationwide.
We employ 70 skilled and qualified site operatives and have all of our own specialist plant and equipment. In addition to designing and building sports surfaces, our company carries out ground remediation, ground stabilisation, drainage, civil engineering, baseworks, hard and soft surfacing, steps and DDA access schemes, roads and footpaths etc.
