Our research institute was founded in 2017 in Dresden, Saxony. It brings together researchers with different scientific backgrounds from all over the world. We develop novel technologies with the goal of increasing the reliability of IoT (Internet of Things) systems, which includes ensuring availability, integrity and confidentiality. In doing so, we are creating the foundation for a trustworthy IoT, which is a basis for a future "digital democracy". The Barkhausen Institute is co-financed with tax funds based on the budget passed by the Saxon State Parliament.
