SAEP is an award-winning non-profit dedicated to supporting children & youth in the underserved community of Philippi, Cape Town. Our broad objective is ‘to improve the social and economic development of Philippi and to improve living standards’… through programmes to support children and young people at critical transitional stages of their education – educating for a brighter future.
We implement 5 programmes across the education pipeline:
- Early Childhood Development Programme: Creating safe, sustainable & quality learning spaces (140 ECD centres)
- Siyakhathala Programme: Improved literacy & learning habits (2 primary schools)
- Hope Scholars Programme: Increased interest & uptake of STEM subjects at FET level (2 high schools)
- Bridging Year Programme: Supporting matriculants to access tertiary education (60 students)
- Tertiary Support Programe: Supporting students to graduate from tertiary institutions (70 students)
