Sigma TV began operations on 3 April 1995 and has now established itself among the first channels in Cyprus in terms of viewership. Sigma TV has developed distinct infrastructure for the creation and support of local productions, while its television series and shows, together with its news programme define the television station’s identity and comparative advantage. Sigma TV makes the difference with the news programmes “Protoselido”, “Mesimeri ke Kati”, “60 Lepta - Ektaktos” and “Anichti Grammi”.
Having a constant flow of information on local and international news updates, the news programme of Sigma TV “Tomes sta Gegonota”, along with the informative TV series of the station, constitute a guarantee for the most reliable and objective overview of world news.
From its very first day of operations, Sigma TV sought to be a hotbed for young actors and screenwriters by producing comedy and drama series driven by the high expectations of its viewers. Sigma TV brought to the Cypriot viewers the leading Cypriot daily drama series “Akti Oniron”, as well as the top Cypriot daily sitcom “Sto Para Pente” and the longest-running drama series in the history of Cyprus’ television “Se Fonto Kokkino”. Success continues with new local productions, such as the third season in a row of the series “Efta ourani ke sinnefa alites”, while this year and for the first time Sigma TV has proceeded with Star TV Greece to the coproduction of the drama series “Orkos Siopis”. Moreover, this year, the new entertainment show “Show ke Avlaves” has been launched and has already been embraced by young audience, reaching very high viewing figures.
