Located in Sydney, the Windgap Foundation provides a range of programs, services and residential homes, to over 200 adults with disabilities.
At Windgap, each person has the opportunity to achieve their goals and enjoy social and economic inclusion.
A not-for-profit organisation, Windgap was started by a group of parents almost 70 years ago to provide education to their children with intellectual disabilities who were refused schooling. The first school was a house called ‘Windgap’ in Coogee.
Today, Windgap provides a range of programs, services and continued learning for adults aged 18 to 84 years old, fostering independence, life skills, fun and empowerment. These include:
• Supported Employment programs – including Warehouse and Growability (our community garden care team)
• Transition from high school programs into training and employment (SLES)
• Hospitality and Café workplace program
• Community Day Programs – recreational, sport and community participation
• Life skills, language, literacy and numeracy programs
• Flexible Support Service and respite
• Residential Group homes
• NDIS Plan Management and Support Coordination
Help us create opportunities for people with disabilities.
Together, we can continue to make a difference and ensure adults with intellectual disabilities have every opportunity for success and can live their life to the fullest.
