Welcome to Sunshine Coast Health! In five main hospitals including Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Nambour General Hospital, Gympie Hospital, Caloundra Health Service and Maleny Soldiers Memorial Hospital we have almost 9,000 staff providing care to almost 500,000 people in our communities. With an operating budget of $1.5 billion, our health service stretches over 10,000 square kilometres across Gympie to the north, south to Caloundra, and out to Kilkivan in the west. Our facilities are set amongst eucalypts, mangroves, pandanus, fringed by waterways and coastal areas, with some of the best beaches and hinterland retreats in Queensland. Each year we see over 500,000 outpatient appointments, over 188,000 people through our emergency departments, 33,000 breast screens, 3,700 babies born, and over 19,000 surgeries. These are more than just the numbers, they’re people relying on us for safety, quality, innovation, and compassionate care.
