The College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) prepares students for success through innovative, quality academic experiences in the areas of physical sciences, life sciences, and mathematical processes.
A part of Kennesaw State University (KSU), a student-centered, research-driven R2 institution in the metro Atlanta area, research is a large part of our student’s studies. Our departments provide both undergraduate and graduate students with increasing research opportunities to collaborate with our faculty in current research, providing cutting-edge instrumentation and spacious labs. Often these types of research opportunities are not available to students until the post-doc level. Poster presentation showcases and symposiums throughout the year allow students to share findings about their research.
Our faculty members excel in a diverse range of research areas such as developmental biology, microbiology, neuroscience, theoretical particle physics, and mathematical biology. Research in the college is supported by prestigious federal institutions such as the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Health, and the Department of Defense, as well as private foundations. Faculty also continuously innovate their instructional practices to ensure CSM students are positioned to be competitive upon graduation.
By combining high-level research activity, state-of-the-art teaching facilities, and interdisciplinary courses, our students are prepared for graduate studies and careers to meet tomorrow’s challenges. There are many career markets for students of CSM to enter upon graduation. Unlimited career opportunities in areas related to biofuel/bioenergy, medical devices and equipment, research, pharmaceuticals, climate study, national parks, analytics, banking, toxicology, laboratory management, regulatory affairs, and more!
