Rhein-Erft Economic Development Council Bergheim, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany “Wirtschaftsförderung Rhein-Erft GmbH (WFG)” is the economic development council of the county of Rhine-Erft, west of Cologne, Germany. The agency was founded in 1970 with the aim of establishing a point of contact for start-ups, local companies and investors. It is devoted to location marketing, the promotion of new technologies, business networking and the securing of skilled workers. Main shareholder is the county, Rhein-Erft-Kreis (85.524%). Other shareholders are the ten cities of the county and the third biggest German savings bank Kreissparkasse Köln (1.316% each).
