In January 2007 three architects Tazio di Pretoro, Giulio Paladini and Antonio Baroncelli, decide to join their competences formed through the universities of Iuav Venezia and Politecnico di Milano, the International Master Degree “High Rise Building” at TU Delft, and the collaboration with Italian and Internationalpractices like OMA – Rem Koolhaas and Foster & Partners.
The new founded Metroarea establishes, in the contemporary architecture scene, a laboratory open to the experiments proposed by the building industry with the aim of conjugating market demands with a typological and formal research, both economically and environmentally sustainable. The operative process main goal is to promote high quality contemporary architecture, built on solid technical and technological basis, enriched by in-depth analysis, creative developments and cutting edge designs, throughout the whole process.
Today the office is in charge of several projects in the metropolitan territory between Milano, Bologna and Trieste, including Venice, Padova, Treviso, Florence, Rome and the countries of Austria and Slovenia.
