WHO WE ARE
Since 2012, the Peace Islands Institute has proven its commitment to social change by hosting over 500 events with over 7,000 participants in New York City alone. We provide a platform for alternative viewpoints to bring people of different races, religions, cultures and nationalities together. Our programs attract distinguished speakers including former presidents, ambassadors, congressional leaders and award-winning writers.
WHAT WE DO
Through our programs and research, Peace Islands Institute seeks to accomplish the following objectives:
1. Educate participants on effective, evidence-based practices that promote collaboration amongst people of different races, religions, cultures and nationalities.
2. Reduce conflict between polarized groups by supporting successful practices discussed in our programs and espoused by our experts.
3. Apply a humanitarian focus to government agencies and sectors.
4. Unite communities by creating opportunities for social and intellectual interactions to foster meaningful dialogue and advance understanding.
5. Explain local problems, propose solutions and support peacebuilding initiatives.
