Our Friends Place is dedicated to helping young women break the generational cycles of abuse, neglect, poverty and homelessness through empowering self-reliance and independence.
Our Friends Place owns and operates two Transitional Living Centers (TLCs) which provide a supportive home for young women battling homelessness or poverty, aging out of foster care and escaping abuse, neglect or sex-trafficking. All young women living at Our Friends Place must enroll in classes to further a career, find and maintain a job, pay a portion of their earning as rent and a portion into savings, and attend weekly group sessions to learn life and job skills.
Our Friends Place offers a non-residential SOAR to Success prevention program. SOAR to Success teaches young women life skills through high school, colleges, and local nonprofit programs. The goal of this non-residential program is to help young women build their Strengths, Opportunities, Allies, and Resiliency to prevent future homelessness.
