The English Academy (TEA) Is a successful, private British school located in the Hawalli district of Kuwait.
The school offers education to students from KG to Year 13 covering the ages from 3.5 to 18 years. Public examinations are taken in Year 10 and 11 for IGCSE, GCSE, and, on completion, may enter the sixth form to study AS and A Levels through the examination boards of Edexcel and Cambridge in the UK. Particular emphasis is placed on the teaching of Arabic in the first three years, thus allowing pupils to develop totally bilingually.
The school operates the English National Curriculum adapted to take account of the requirements of the ministry of private education of Kuwait which provides for the teaching of Arabic, Islam and Kuwait social studies. It is a privately owned co-ed British day school which takes account of traditional values and cultural norms of the host country and the UK, while developing an international outlook amongst the student body.
TEA is a well equipped school with an English and Arabic library, computer rooms, science laboratories, a multi-purpose hall and separate specialist music, art and nutrition departments and a separate 6th Form area. There is also a school clinic staffed by a nurse and a uniform shop. A wide range of Extra-curricular activities include the school choir, drama club, the International Award, the International Global Citizens award, and a variety of sports.
