The MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine is a world-leading biomedical research institute based in Oxford. Scientists working at the Institute are committed to improving our understanding of the processes underlying normal cell biology, and how these are perturbed in diseases which affect human health.
The Institute, which benefits from strategic support from the Medical Research Council, houses an equal mixture of scientists and clinicians working together and in collaboration with the National Institute of Health Research, the National Health Service and commercial companies with the aim of directly translating research outcomes into improving the diagnosis and treatment of human diseases. The major topics of current research include haematology, immunology, stem cell biology, oncology and inherited human genetic diseases.
