DYWIDAG Saudi Arabia Co. Ltd. (DSA) is a 100 % subsidiary of DYWIDAG International GmbH focussing on the construction market in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Founded in 1979, DSA’s first shareholders were Dyckerhoff & Widmann AG (DYWIDAG) together with Saudi partners. The first project DYWIDAG carried out in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was the construction of the Water Tower in Riyadh in 1970. Some twelve years later the 60 m high Water Tower as landmark was joined by the 170 m high TV tower built by DYWIDAG in the course of the turnkey erection of the Riyadh TV Centre from 1978 to 1982.
Further significant projects of these early days of DYWIDAG in Saudi Arabia were:
Construction of 140 km of “Road 61” incl. 42 bridges in the south-western part of the country between 1973 and 1976
Construction of more than 200 concrete silos for the storage of grain in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam from 1976 to 1987 with heights between 31 and 47 m using the DYWIDAG slipform system and for a total storage capacity of more than 600,000 m³
Construction of a 13 km long tunnel with a diameter of 5.6 m through the hard rock of the Assir Mountains for the Makkah-Taif watermain in the early 1980s

DSA is a fully equipped company registered in Saudi Arabia, with approx. 200 staff (including the site staff) and 2,800 workers. The turnover in 2007 exceeded EUR 70 mil. DSA’s head office and main facilities are located in Jubail Industrial City on the shores of the Arabian Gulf. A second installation with plant workshop and a camp for over 1,000 workers is in Yanbu, the other large industrial area on Saudi Arabia’s west coast.
