Healthy food packages are prepared by volunteers and delivered to schools each Friday to ensure children have nourishment over the weekend. The packages are discretely tucked into the child’s own backpack to help shield the child from any stigma associated with hunger or receiving food assistance.
In the summer families receive a bounty of healthy food directly at their home because hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation. This delivery model helps to eliminate barriers to accessing food (transportation, working hours or a parent unable to leave the home).
