Panathinaikos F.C. is a leading Club in today's Football reality and sports institutions in Greece. Founded in Athens, in 1908, is now the oldest active football club in Greece disposing one of the most popular and successful sports teams. In Panathinaikos our aim is to give pride to our fans both on the pitch by winning trophies and off the pitch by giving the good example in fair-play, harmony and unity. Our legacy, to date, contains 20 Greek Championships, 18 Greek Cups, 4 Greek Super Cups and 8 Doubles (winning both the national Championship and the Cup in the same season). Additionally, we have been the most successful Greek club in terms of achievements in European competitions. We are the only Greek team that has reached the Champions Cup final in 1971, and also the semi-finals twice, in 1985 and 1996 and also the only Greek team that has played for the Intercontinental Cup (1971). Moreover, we have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League twice (in 1992 and 2002) and also the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup twice (in 1988 and 2003). Finally we have also won the Balkans Cup once, in 1977. We feel proud also for having focused on the development of youth talents in more than 40 football academies all over Greece, since the 50’s, as well as in our unique stadium “Apostolos Nikolaidis”, the most historic ground in the City of Athens since 1922. We are famous for our professional team and for being one of the most successful clubs in the Greek football history.
