Child-Help exists because all children born with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus (target group) are entitled to quality, preventive, and curative care. They have the right to grow up to be full citizens in a welcoming society.
We prioritize the training and quality control of all individuals involved in their care, including children, parents, self-help organizations, nurses, paediatricians, paramedics, and surgeons. Through collaboration with local partners, we establish lifelong support programs that assist these children and their parents throughout their journey.
Our work goes beyond medical interventions. We actively promote prevention efforts by distributing folic acid tablets to mothers-to-be and advocating for food fortification. By raising awareness and providing crucial resources, we aim to reduce the incidence of spina bifida.
Child-Help operates in Europe as well, working closely with local associations for spina bifida and hydrocephalus. We strive to amplify the needs of our partners in the Global South to raise awareness and garner support within the European community. Through awareness campaigns, information sessions, and fundraising events, we foster solidarity and generate funds for our projects.
