Since 1990, Shalit Foods has been supplying the food industry with quality brands and impeccable service.
Sol Shalit, the Founder and President, started the company with a simple tomato basil sauce that he offered to Toronto area hotels. Impressing the chefs with daily service, his product variety grew by demand. Before long, Sol partnered with large food companies and developed a unique distribution system that allowed him to offer full range of products from every manufacturer.
By carefully choosing select product lines, Sol was able to expand into more markets and by 2000 he was supplying products throughout Canada and the U.S.
In 2001, his son, Ron Shalit, joined the company as a Sales Rep. Ron, who spent his previous summers driving the truck for Shalit Foods, quickly progressed and specialized in the healthcare field. Currently, Ron is the Director of Sales and Marketing.
In 2004, Sol’s other son, Tal Shalit, joined the company as well. With a strong background in business & IT consulting, Tal helped systemize and transform the company into what it is today. Shalit Foods then took a new direction by leaving the distribution field and focusing on the brands that make up the company today.
In 2010, Shalit Foods reached its goal of offering a wholesome collection of brands for foodservice and retail. With a talented group of staff dedicated to customer service, Shalit Foods has managed to continue to succeed and grow.
