When patients presenting with symptoms related to
constipation, diarrhea or IBS, Transit-Pellets radiopaque marker is
prescribed to evaluate the transit time and how fast or slow
food/stool travels through the intestines. The results
generated from this test can quantify the severity of transit
problems and help guide physicians in determining the
need for additional diagnostic procedures or selecting the
appropriate therapy.
To undergo the Transit-Pellets test, a referral from a primary care physician or specialists is required. The Transit-Pellets capsules can be obtained from various locations, such as the doctor's office/hospital, pharmacy, or radiology center. Prior to usage, it is essential to read the Instruction for Use (IFU)
included in each box of Transit-Pellets. As part of the Transit-Pellets diagnostic
procedure, an X-ray is required on day seven.
